ST DAVIDS HOLIDAY COTTAGES, PEMBROKESHIRE

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of photographing two beautiful cottages in

St Davids, Pembrokeshire. I photographed the interiors and exteriors of the lovely holiday homes, the wonderful people who own them - Jan & John - and their gorgeous rescue animals! It was wonderful. And! - there was cake that had to be eaten in order to get the right shot....Doesn't get much better than that!

It took two separate shoots to get everything, as there was so much to be captured. Having the opportunity to visit St Davids twice within a month was great. Jan & John are going to be updating their website soon and wanted lots of new promotional images.

They've worked hard to ensure the cottages are homely, cosy, comfortable and clean. They're also very relaxing spaces to be in, not to mention the surroundings and location of the cottages, which as Jan & John put it, allow visitors to

"Step off the World".

Jan said she wanted me to capture the cottages in my own way, with fresh eyes, and so she left me to crack on and really get in the zone - thanks Jan! I feel like this was a really effective way of photographing these spaces, as it allowed me to be drawn naturally to details and aspects within the cottages that I may not have noticed otherwise.

The tones that Jan & John have chosen to decorate the cottages with, both inside and out, really compliment the natural stone and original features of these beautiful buildings, which made for very photogenic subjects indeed!

This open-plan living space combines the rustic cosiness of the log fire with the contrasting light & airy lounge area, with French doors opening out to the garden with incredible views for miles!

Everything about these cottages is inviting, who wouldn't want to escape here?!

Here's the lovely Jan & John in their element! They love to walk the dogs up the hill just behind their house (& the cottages!) They make sure it's a daily appointment so they get the fresh air and quality time together that they deserve!

The cottages have lovely coastal walks and views right on the doorstep - the perfect getaway.

I absolutely loved the days I spent here with Jan, John & co (as you can probably tell from the photos!) It was just such a lovely place to be, so calm and peaceful.
